Alex Jones' wife arrested on charges of domestic violence
The wife of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has been arrested for domestic violence.
Erica Wolf-Jones was taken into custody on Christmas Eve, as deputies sheriffs booked her into a jail in Austin, Texas at about 8.45 p.m.
Records show Jones, 43, now faces misdemeanor charges of assault resulting in injury to a family member, as well as charges of resisting arrest, search or transfer. It is understood that she had not received any pledge until Saturday noon.
As reported by the Associated Press, Jones, who founded the right-wing media group Infowars, declined to say whether he was infected. He also declined to give any further details of what happened, apart from his belief that the accident was related to his wife's recent medication change.
It's a private family matter that happened on Christmas Eve, Jones said. I love and care for my wife and there seems to be some kind of pharmacological imbalance.
Earlier this week, Jones sought to block subpoenas issued to him by a House committee while investigating the January 6 riots at the Capitol.
Jones spoke at a rally in support of then-President Donald Trump before the rebellion. His colleague at Infowars, Owen Schroer, was already indicted in connection with the matter in August, although he was confirmed "innocent of the charges".
According to Jones, his wife's arrest "is not about my politics," with the radio host stating that it "wasn't some kind of personal hateful thing or anything."
